RAA Call for Volunteers

Rheems AA needs your help with the following positions and volunteers.

1.  We are in an immediate need for a Soccer Co-Commissioner for our Rec soccer program.  We will help train any interested person.  Please contact Brian Bell at bsbell73@comcast.net or Greg Laszakovits at gregdlaszakovits@gmail.com

2.  The Rheems AA Fundraising Committee is looking for volunteers. The committee will meet just a few times throughout the year to discuss ideas for fundraising for all of the sports within Rheems AA. This committee will not require a huge time commitment, but is essential in helping Rheems AA provide affordable opportunities for our children to participate in the various sports available within the program.

Ideally we'd like volunteers from each sport to better help us understand the needs and various ways we can incorporate fundraising within the organization. Joining the committee does NOT mean that you will be responsible for running the fundraisers. If you are interested in joining the committee please email Heidi Vognetz, Fundraising Chair, at hlvognetz@yahoo.com.

3.  We are looking for an individual to help us get our PA tax exempt status.  The interested party should have knowledge on how to fill out PA form REV-72.  Please contact Brian Bell at bsbell73@comcast.net or Greg Laszakovits at gregdlaszakovits@gmail.com

4.  Rheems AA needs a volunteer to served as Co-commissioner of LBYSA (Lancaster Boys Youth Soccer Association) for one year (2017) and as commissioner for one year (2018).  LBYSA is the recreational soccer league in which our boys rec teams play.  Rheems AA will provide any interested parties with additional information.  LBYSA holds meetings two times a year.  Other responsibilities would be to answer emails from participating rec clubs.  Please contact Brian Bell @ bsbell73@comcast.net for additional information.

Sincerely,

Greg Laszakovits - President

Brian Bell - Vice President

SPRING 2017 RHEEMS RISK MANAGEMENT NEWS
As the spring sports season approaches, we want to make sure our volunteer coach pool is ready to go. Rheems Athletic Association's Volunteer Clearance policy is available here: https://leagueathletics.com/Page.asp?n=54889&org=rheemsaa.org In the fall, the Rheems board created the position of Risk Management Coordinator. Three volunteers stepped forward to help make sure our clearances are in compliance with state law. Thank you to Paula Burke (chair) and committee members Marcie Yakscoe and Karin Laszakovits.

Paula, Marcie and Karin are reaching out to coaches and assistant coaches for all Rheems sports to make sure we have clearances: Pennsylvania State Police, ChildLine (child abuse) and concussion certificates. These are all FREE and more information can be found here here: http://www.keepkidssafe.pa.gov/clearances/index.htm. For volunteers who have lived in PA for 10 years, Rheems has an affirmation form to fill out here:  http://files.leagueathletics.com/Images/Club/12453/volunteer%20policy%20affirmation%20statement%20-%20draft%206-14-15.pdf For volunteers who have not lived in PA for 10 years, an FBI clearance is required.

Rheems is an all-volunteer organization and we appreciate your time and contributions!
